About Allison

Allison Ferraro | alwayseatdessert.com

Hi, I’m Allison.

I believe that lazy Sunday mornings are the best time of the week (especially when they include homemade scones!). I believe that cooking a delicious meal together at home totally counts as date night. In fact, I believe that home is the best place on earth, and that the kitchen is the best room in the house. I believe that – with a little patience and a lot of gusto – everyone can conquer baking a pie from scratch. And I believe that life is sweeter when you always eat dessert.

I come from a family of avid bakers. My grandma was an absolute wizard in the kitchen, and I will always remember the blueberry pies and muffins she would make with the fresh blueberries we picked every summer. She passed her skills and passion along to my mom, who makes the world’s best apple pie (you can get her recipe here!). In turn, my mom instilled in me a love for baking from a young age. As a little kid I loved creating my own recipes, and my mom and dad – rockstar parents that they are – used to choke down my creations and encourage me to keep experimenting. Check out one of my early recipes below (and please don’t try this one at home!). Today, I still love experimenting with recipes and sharing my creations with loved ones.

I started ALWAYS EAT DESSERT in 2014 as a way to share my passion for baking (and eating!) delicious food. Here you’ll find inspiration and recipes for homemade meals, snacks, drinks, and – of course! – desserts. Sometimes I also sprinkle in posts about some of my other passions: travel, home décor, and style.
